I have a goal

I have a goal. That all the little blog posts in my head will some day be published. Like, within the next 2 weeks.

There is a wonderful story I am working on telling you all about a man who stood, literally, for the rights of the unborn baby. While also standing as an example of love for the conflicted mother.

A video waiting to be made about water. yes. water.

What I’m really enthusiastic about.

Why I often consider closing this blog.

How this blog might be seeing some changes.

I will get to all of these in the next several days.

Until then – answer me this…

What in life, is beautiful to you? Where do you find inspiration?

  1. i find inspiration by lingering in HIs presence. by studying His Word. buy singing His praises.

i see beauty in my son's laughter, family gatherings, my dog's wagging tail, a stranger's smile, in corporate worship and prayer and when im alone enjoying His creation.

i find inspiration when i see people pray for each other in twitter & blogs, even if those same people have never "met" personally. it just goes to show that God's love for His children cannot be put in a box.

i see beauty in tears falling, in hearts breaking, in hopeless situations. because i know that it is our tears that water the very seeds of faith so our hopes and dreams will grow.

i choose to find inspiration (even if it's hard to) because He promises to make all things beautiful in His time.

  2. I think that love is the most inspiring thing for me. Whether it is an awareness of the love God has for us, or experiencing the love of family and friends, I am never more inspired than when I can feel that love.

I am at a place in my life where are few things I value more than friendship. Having friends who encourage me and believe in me are a huge source of inspiration for me as well.

  3. My neighborhood has two key points on hills where you can see a small part of the city. I see beauty when I stand on that hill and just watch the sunset and think wow this is great. I think about all of the people looking at the exact same sunset and how absolutely gorgeous it is. That kind of sounds cheesy but it really is true

    • i don't think that sounds cheesy at all. it's amazing when you sit and actually ponder how big this world is…and how much we all do that is the same. like, gaze at an amazing sun. i love it!

  4. What's beautiful to me is Christ's light in others.
    Watching people DO.
Watching them juggle their lives to fit in more they can DO.
Watching them, in what may seem inconsistent, shut one thing down to start another because they're minds are never satisfied that they're DOING enough.
I've seen that light here by the way.
    That's beautiful to me.

  5. When glimpse at the first words of scripture to start my day — Beautiful
When I kiss my wife on the cheek as she wakes up — Beautiful
The morning stress of getting the family on the move — Beautiful
When God paints in the sky at sun rise and sunset. — Beautiful
When my brain is cloudy and focus is lacking, God breaks through — Beautiful
    My God is Beautiful

  7. Why do you make me think Tam…dang darnit.

Beautiful to me is my daughter. She rocks.

My inspiration is my need to travel. I LOVE to travel outside of the country and it inspires me to work hard so that I can.

  8. Beautiful? My reflection. (ba-dun-chhh)

    Okay, but seriously…

Beautiful to me, is my husband working four jobs to put me through grad school and then still trying to sneak me money on a regular basis so that I can "have things".

It's looking back over my life, and not being able to see a single second in which God wasn't completely present, even when I didn't even know He was interested.

Beautiful is my youth group brainstorming ways to extend compassion to others in need. Without any guidance from me.

And it's the fact that I can sing. Regardless of the state of my vocal cords, I can sing because God is my song. And I don't even care how cheesy or Pollyanna-esque that sounds, 'cause I mean ever last little word.

And finally, beautiful is finding friendship, even when I know I'm a lousy friend. It's having people in my life who are not that different from me, and who, despite my faults, choose to love me and stick around. And it's having a family in friends. And learning to seek out friends in family, whether or not they share my values or faith.

    I. am. such. a mushy. person!!!! ;)

  10. Beauty. I have these vivid memories of moments where beauty was defined for me. But to describe them accurately. Not sure it's possible.
    - watching the sun rise. Especially in those moments where life is a struggle and God's beauty envelopes you and He gently speaks peace and a new day.
    - My nephews. Beautiful. Their eyes. Their laugh. Their smile. Their hug.
    - Those moments when worship is unhindered. When it's just gazing upon the beauty of God. When no one is concerned about whether there's music playing or anything of the sort… just want to spend time with Jesus.
    - Spending time with people you've just met who love to talk about Jesus and hash out "tough" topics that you've both been wrestling over.
