Last year I wrote a post for Lindsey Nobles on how the song, How He Loves translates to my heart.
The line…”He is jealous for me”…gets me every time. For me? I know me. I’m not sure I’d be jealous for me. But He is. Cuz He loves like none of us could ever love. So, why I may not understand that kind of love, I sure do receive it.
Then I thought about Kassidi, my first born, and how that song is so much more powerful in light of her life. Knowing that I had aborted two children before Kass was born and could’ve very easily done the same again. But, God was jealous for her. I’m not saying He wasn’t for the others. They’re with Him now. But He seemed to put His Holy Foot down here.
And to hear Kass sing the words…”He is jealous for me…” I know now nothing could have stood in the way of His love and her arrival. His love fought for her. And now, she sings…
so glad she did it with the "sloppy wet kiss" version! Keepin' it real! ;o)
And as always, can't watch her (either of them truly) without tears in my eyes and crazy baby flashbacks!
This song is special to me too. It was my mom's favorite song the last year of her life. She sang it all the time before she was sick. After that she didn't sing much at all. The last two hours of her life, I leaned over her, one hand on her hair, one hand on her arm, wanting to memorize the way she felt and smelled. I sang this song, her favorite song to her over and over again.
Over a thousand people came to her funeral. We ended the memorial with this song. I will never forget seeing almost a thousand people worship, their hands raised, their voices joining with mine in such great volume that it competed with my microphoned voice, tears streaming down every face.
All of us thanking God for the chance to know my mom in the midst of the not-understanding of why He didn't heal her on earth.
must be sooooo beautiful to see your daughter playing like that
AWESOME!

wow! Just read this as I was out for a walk. Powerful! Such a good song, and incredible testimony to Gods love, Tam.
she's my favorite. she just is. there is no other singer out there with a cd in their pocket whose voice i love more than hers.
a thousand thumbs up to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful from God's heart straight to a mother's heart. Thanks for sharing her with us today.
I felt so honored to hear this song for the 1st time at ubc in Waco. 2 days before it was released to radio and 4 months ahead of the album. It was the day after my daughter graduated from Baylor. ubc was her second home. She actually ran (volunteered) to run there children's program most of her senior year. We had her graduation party in the back room at ubc. She is best friends with Mark Waldrop (and his wife Anna). Mark joined dc*b at the end of their sophomore year. She was so excited!! Mom, I have a rock star for a friend!! Now, it's just what he does for a living!
Love to listen to the heart & passion Kass brings with her voice. One of these days, when I get a job, I am going to travel across OR & come hear you in person!! Thanks for making my day.
*wiping away tears…."He put his foot down." His love fought for her." …my heart breaks again. (*wants to question Him about this subject) I know that He knows the bigger picture and yes, He loves me too. He's just shown me in different ways.
You have one talented daughter there Tam! This is one of my favorite songs – thanks for sharing.
Sooooooo beautiful. :’)
