Happy Hodge+Tennessee Anniversary!

One year ago, June 13th, we crossed over the TN state line after a 5 day 2,300 mile journey from Southern Oregon. This was a huge move for our family but a move we knew we were called to make and needed to make.

Though we left family and the closest friends we’ve ever had…this is home. This is home.

This faith journey has been amazing. It has been scary. It has been enlightening. Motivating. Lonely. Fulfilling. Thrilling. Inspiring. Challenging. It has been everything we expected and more. We all have grown tremendously this last year.

Brent continues to flourish in his role as Campus Pastor at Cross Point’s Hendersonville campus.

The kids are knee deep in ministry and music activities and they love every second of it.

They both play on the adult and youth teams. Here’s a video of both of them on team for a youth function. Kota on drums and Kass on lead.

I am nearing the end of completing my 1st book.

We are all soaking in this towns creative pulse. We feed off of it. We love just walking the streets of downtown taking everything in

We are growing accustomed to the whacky weather and insects. We’re even calling ‘BBQ’ing’ “Grillin Out” now after being told that, “BBQ is something you eat, not do!”.  But a shopping cart is still a shopping cart…not a Buggy.

To all here who have embraced us, welcomed us in and walked us through this first year…Thank you! You have made this journey so much easier for our family.

Thank you Cross Point for taking a chance on us. We love serving with you!

We love Tennessee!

It’s good to be home.

That Was SO 2011! [via MTTV]

Way back in the day a little southern fireball and I used to make videos together. We’ve taken a very long break. But, now, we are back people!!

We have nothing to say but you should totally listen. Trust us.

Big Announcement

We are all so very excited for this transition. It has been a long time coming. Although, honestly, until this year we had no idea we would be going to Nashville.

While we are excited to go minister and serve in TN we are also torn over leaving family and loved ones here in Southern Oregon as well as the church we helped build for the past 13 years, Table Rock Fellowship. All of this makes it very hard to leave. But we know God is moving us on. And very far East.

Speaking of…we leave June 10th. By car. By moving truck.

Yes, we are all driving. Together. Across the country. In the summer. Together. Across the country.

Brent’s official first day at the North Campus is June 19th…Father’s Day.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, BRENT…We got you a church!!!

And, yes, Alece is coming with us. A family of five. Yay us!

Well Nashville…Ready or not, here we come!

Oh, and Cross Point…You are brave.

Very, very brave.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Eve. And, day. And, more…

Sometimes, it’s so hard to have a serious moment with this man…

Well, I tried. Merry Christmas, y’all! Love you!

a blast from the past

Sunday night the kids and I went through our vimeo account and watched a ton of videos. It was so much fun. We laughed. A lot.

Kota’s voice has changed so much! Kass used to have long blonde hair. I had totally forgotten about that.

Boy…time goes by fast. Remember when you were a kid and all the adults would always tell you how fast time went by? And you’d think, “Whatever. Time can’t go by fast enough for me!”

sigh.

While the kids have changed faster than I can keep up with…Brent…has not.

Here is an outtake video from 2 years ago.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything this man does. I am contactually obligated to laugh at with him.

A Blooper Reel

As a part of No Negative November…and if you all are tired of this then, boo-on-ya!… I am sharing a video that Pastor T, aka Toby at What’s This Life For. It is a bloopers reel from the 5 ladies who contributed to Ladies Week on his blog last week.

And, like a turd, I forgot to post about that.

So, here’s the deal…Toby highlighted 5 women last week on his blog to share, via video, about their story. It was a heavy week, yet, it was overflowing with hope and beauty. Below are the links to each ladies story. If you are dealing with any of these topics, or know someone who is, please watch and pass it along. You’ll find hope there.

Jenni Clayville – Infidelity

Nicole Wick – Addiction

Alece Ronzino – Affair

Mandy Thompson – Infertility

Me – Abortion

oh yes it’s ladies night! well, “week”

i love redemption. i love grace. i love hope…hopeful expectations. i love faith lived out.

i love seeing one’s bitter journey turn into sweet deliverance.

this week, starting today, you can watch with me the stories of 5 different ladies who’ve traveled 5 different dirty and dusty roads straight into the comforting and merciful hands of God.

toby, aka “Pastor T”, asked jenni clayville, nicole wick, alece, miss mandy pants thompson and myself to share our stories for ladies week. each day one of us will be featured, via video, candidly sharing about infidelity, infertility, the “other woman”, abortions and addictions.

if you have struggled, or are currently struggling, with any of these – or know someone who is/has – please mark your calendars this week so you do not miss these videos.

you can watch them all HERE, at toby’s place. first up is jenni!

My boy – Drumming for his 14th bday party

Sunday afternoon my little boy turned 14.

FOURTEEN.

If you’ve seen me say it once, you’ve seen it a million times...parents…don’t blink. It just goes so fast.

Most of you know both my kids are crazy talented. well, at least I think they are.

Kassidi is an amazing vocalist, guitarist and songwriter.

Dakota is, in my opinion, a smokin hot drummer! you-betcha! He has been playing since he was 4 years old. We bought him a full size kit then and he has had that same one, laboring over it – practicing his skill, up until last Christmas when he was finally gifted a new kit. Kota has worked hard at his gift and I am so, So, SO proud of him. Every single time I hear and see him play I can not keep the smile off my face.

Here he is, with their band, Chaos Theory, playing an original for his guests at his 14th birthday party. They were missing their bass player, and with the three older boys in college they rarely get practice…but nevertheless…I think they are spectacular.

I’m the mom. Don’t argue with me.

its a video interview with…

…pete wilson. yes, i got the busy lil guy to stop for a moment and discuss one of my favorite chapters from his book, Plan B.

for those of you who do not know…pete is the pastor at cross point church in nashville, tn. he and his wife brandi are also some of our dearest friends. they are the real deal. and loved deeply. mostly brandi.

please watch the video for some candid discussion and life applicable principles that will challenge you and the way you think.

pete, thank you. thank you for your friendship, leadership and Godly example you are to me and my family. i love you, brother.
