Who I Am

I am In-Progress.

Progress: forward or onward movement toward a destination.

Sometimes that destination is toward good…or not so good. I am a work in progress. And until the good Lord calls me home I will walk this journey with Him – whatever that looks like.

My journey has been a roller coaster. But it’s been a roller coaster that has helped shape me into the person I am today. And, frankly, I don’t mind myself all that much. God has had His hands full with me. I commend Him ;)

Today…I live in beautiful Nashville, TN with my husband, Brent, of 20 years and my two fantabulous children Kassidi, 17 and Dakota, 15. Brent is a Campus Pastor at Cross Point Community Church - North Campus.

I am in the process of writing my first book titled, “The Day I Told My Daughter”. You can read more about that on the My Story page.

If I could share one thing with everyone I ever meet it would be that we do not have to live under the pain and regrets of our life’s choices or hurts. That we can allow them to grow us…grow us into something powerful that God can, and will, use to reach His people.

The only way I know this is because I am living it. No, my life isn’t perfect…it is far from so. But it has purpose. And so does yours.

  2. 14 tons of spilled Oreo cookies snarl Ill. traffic

Mon May 19, 9:00 AM ET

MORRIS, Ill. – Police say a trailer loaded with 14 tons of double-stuffed Oreos has overturned, spilling the cookies still in their plastic sleeves into the median and roadway.

llinois State Police Sgt. Brian Mahoney says the truck’s driver was traveling from Chicago to Morris on Interstate 80 around 4 a.m. Monday when he fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into the median.

“The boxes came out of the trailer and boxes were ripped open,” he said.

The crash about 50 miles southwest of Chicago remains under investigation.

Mahoney says no charges have been filed but both lanes of traffic remain closed while authorities remove the cookies.

  4. So here I am, checking out a totally new to me blog that I just got the address to in an email from the author of a book we going to be using to train our intercessors. (Long enough sentence?) I decide to check out her blog and get a little more info about her. I go to the About page and after reading it I scroll down to read some comments. Still not sure what there is to comment on in an About page, but oh well, that’s just me. A ways down the list I see “tam”, I quickly look at the avatar and Yup, its the tam I know. Dang girl, you are everywhere. I’ll save you looking at your stats, it was cbgrace’s blog.

Travis is a great guy – it’s been nice getting to know him and talk/encourage/pray. You’re a great friend, Tam! My blog roll is getting BIGGER and BIGGER by the day – still trying to figure out how to manage. I am always reading yours – don’t always get to comment nowadays or I don’t get stuff done. :) But I love you! Oh and hey – your latest rant (“not perfect”) …. I’m really asking … (Annie to TammyJo) … will you tell me if I come off that way? I think I have a weakness there and … I don’t want to. Your honest candor and help would be … well, VERY much appreciated. Like the friend who tells you when your skirt is jammed in your underwear and you’ve got toilet paper trailing from your shoe. :) I value you. Love ya.

  22. Hi Tam,

A friend of mine (Chad Estes, I’m not sure if you know him) recommended I talk with you while I’m in Eugene this week. I run a website called Recycle Your Faith and my wife and I are currently on a 8-month road trip capturing stories for the website. Probably be best to talk details via e-mail, but I couldn’t find your address on the site, could you respond via e-mail? Hope we can work something out!
